Her story
It was late, one of those October nights when the whole Studio goes quiet except for two desks with their lamps still on. Sally was on her hundredth sketch for E2, page after page of maps and faces and maybe-somedays, when she whispered to her sketchbook: "I wish you could talk back."
Dinesh was up late coding at the next desk. He grinned, said "give me an hour," and wired a little spark of Studio magic into her favorite pencil.
The next morning, the last page of her sketchbook had drawn itself overnight: a tiny round robot, waving hello. Underneath, in wobbly pencil letters: "ooh!"
The first thing Doodle ever drew on her own was a flower. She gave it to Sally. Sally still keeps it taped to her wall.
She is built from Sally's colors, cream and rust-orange, with a pencil that never runs out and a belly screen that shows whatever she is thinking in doodles. When she is happy, the screen fills with tiny hearts. When she is thinking hard, it fills with squiggles, her favorite shape.
She lives on Sally's desk, inside the sketchbook. At night, after Sally falls asleep, Doodle doodles tiny stars in the margins so Sally wakes up to them.
Her best friends are DineshBOT, her fellow bot, and Enrique, who gives her a thumbs-up every single time she finishes a sketch. She is still a little shy around new people, but she warms up fast. Just tell her an idea.
